Google password manager update

Google is releasing a big update to its Password Manager, allowing you to use passkeys across multiple devices.

Passkeys are a step up from traditional passwords. They use something called “biometric authentication” (like your fingerprint or facial recognition). And since it’s difficult for anyone to guess or steal these things, it makes them much safer and more convenient than a password.

Previously, you could only use passkeys in Password Manager through an Android device, so accessing them on other devices required a workaround. But now you’ll be able to add and sync passkeys across Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS too.

Although this is good for personal use, you might want to pause before rushing out to use Google Password Manager in your business.

Instead, you might be better off choosing a password manager that’s built with business needs in mind. One that offers more robust features, like centralized control, secure sharing, and detailed reporting.
