Copilot key

If you have a Copilot key on your keyboard, do you use it?

I personally think it’s great. But if you haven’t fallen in love with Copilot yet, you might find this key a bit of a waste.

Here’s some news you might like: If you don’t want to use the Copilot key to open the AI assistant, you’ll be able to assign the key to another app instead. You could set the key to open something you already use daily – like your emails or a favorite business tool.

This new option is currently only available to people using the latest beta version of Windows 11, but it will likely rollout to everyone else soon.

For now, the Copilot key can only be linked to apps that meet Microsoft’s security standards, known as MSIX packaged apps.

But in the future, it’s likely you’ll be able to use the Copilot button on your keyboard to launch a wider range of software.

Will you keep the button as it is? Or will you be first in line to switch it to another app?
